Hey Soonlyweds!

This post is a real treat because it’s filled to the brim with wedding inspiration. From the dress, the pizza shark pin party favors to the clean classic all-white & natural wood reception, and the love Andrea & Sean share just oozes out of every picture… So good!

Please enjoy their wedding gallery full of stunning imagery by Laura Ford Photography.

Spoiler Alert: Andrea wore a CAPE, and rocked Stan Smith Adidas at their reception… They know how to throw a party!

Their Story:

Andrea and Sean first met on a Thursday evening at the Santa Monica Pier Twilight Concert Series on Andrea’s night off. When they were introduced, there was mention of Massachusetts and right away the two hit it off; Andrea being a proud Smithie and Sean being a proud New Englander, Masshole pride ran deep. However, Andrea thought this would be just another bud to add to the list, Sean was ready for full pursuit. That same night they met, Sean immediately friended Andrea on Facebook, and they exchanged numbers to meet later that weekend at FYF Fest 2013 (back when it was at LA Historic Park).
The two shared a weekend on and off, both pushing through work duties, and still being able to catch band sets in between watching artists like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Title Fight and My Bloody Valentine. They spent the first three months of dating going to hardcore shows, grabbing coffee, watching movies (Marvel movies, Maximum Overdrive, etc.), cooking dinners (Andrea was on the Whole Life Challenge at the time), and splitting their weekends between Huntington Beach and Los Angeles. Their love blossomed and after their engagement they started planning a kick ass wedding that centered around one of their favorite bands as the entertainment, The Drakes.

From Andrea: I found my dress on Pre-Owned Wedding Dresses and it’s made by Jenny Yoo. It fit like a glove when purchased and needed very minor alterations. I met the previous owner of the dress, it was a very special connection. She let me try the dress on in her home, and we both cried together (happy tears) when I realized it was perfect. Very excited to give it a second life. My cape was custom-made by my friend and pattern-maker Raquel Workman, shoes are Kate Spade heels and Stan Smith Adidas sneakers (for dancing).

Invites were a collaboration by hired designer, Amanda Artinger, and local letterpress company, Creative Letterpress, Inc. out of Burbank. They were one of the few small business local vendors who carried rose gold foil to help give the invitation a special touch. Amanda Artinger, also helped design the save the dates, invitations, printed signage, and our wedding favors  (pizza shark pins: Pizza is Andrea’s favorite interests. Sharks are Sean’s favorite special interest since he was a kid).

Laura says, “they asked on a whim if we could stop by Donut Friends while we were doing their portraits around Eagle Rock…. and I almost cried tears of joy! What a FUN pair (plus I was kind of starving as well) 😉 and yeah, I was looking forward to Border Grill catering, but a vegan donut + major cute photo opp + YES!”

Andrea and Sean danced the night away with friends and family listening to their favorite band! I hope you feel inspired to design and plan a wedding that is completely you! We also want to thank Laura Ford for allowing us to feature her beautiful work.

Cheers!
